The irony

This large stuffed penguin was on sale at neiman marcus for a tidy $70. The tag promises the buyer that they are giving back this Christmas by buying a product made by women in rural Kenya. Annoyances like the abusing of the fair trade fad aside, it seems incredibly unlikely that the fictional destitute kenyans had ever seen a penguin. Maybe that’s why the beak is so misshapen.
