Boo, Congress!

Stolen from SaintSuperman.

I’m less than a fan of this latest bailout plan. Stinks of— dare I say it?— nationalization. The federal oversight clauses are majorly intense. Congress has proved so adept at running the country, we’re entrusting them with federally financed auto manufacturing companies! Hurray!! Not.

  1. Hm. You sound so…Republican.

What’s next? Lipstick? Moose chili? (had that, by the way…tasty.)

Reeks of “damned if we do, damned if we don’t”….

  3. I posted this comment in another post by mistake…
“I’m in the auto industry (tires). As much as I wish that this bailout didn’t exist- I needed it badly for the security of my family. It just feels too much like socialism. Tough choices are ahead for all American. These are the times that define generations of citizens, I just wish I could say that I was optimistic.”

It’s a really tough issue. We just HAVE to save as many jobs as we can right now- unemployment is already shooting through the roof- but at the same time, we have to ask ourselves if these are sustainable jobs. One, two, five, ten years from now- will there be an auto industry to speak of in the US? Should we pour our money into it now just to see it tank next year? I have no bright ideas, just more worries.
